Japanese Symbol for Friendship by Anna

This is the  beautiful Japanese symbol for friendship and when tidying up in my cupboard I came across this old kimono silk which I have had in my stash for years. The symbol is made from linen so no bali batiks in sight for you Kerry. Was excellent to catch up with everyone at the New Zealand quilt symposium and we all amazingly happened to be in the merchant mall at the same time so captured a photo of the NZ contingent of our group. Ngaire has the photo so will be able to post it with her quilt.
Cheers and in friendship Anna

Friendship Star and Scrabble Tiles by Kay W.

Another month another challenge!  This month's theme yielded so many ideas, but so few that my sewing skills could cope with!  I was looking through my batik scraps for something else when i found these fabrics and remembered that I had bought them at Kerry's shop at the Sydney Quilt show a few years ago.  I did finish that project, Kerry.  It is a lovely wavy bed runner that sits on top of my white doona and keeps my cat very happy!

So for this month I have done a traditional Friendship Star block, with Kerry's fabrics, and overlaid some Scrabble tiles spelling that all important word.  Thank you for the challenge, Kerry, and thank you all for being my Quilting Friends.

Deb - 'Sharing A Cuppa'

I love getting together with my friends. Sewing days at someone's house and visits to cafes are my favourites, lots of talking and who doesn't love a tiny bit of gossip!! On a more serious side - friends give us lots of support when we need it most! And probably more important than anything are the laughs we share!
I decided to set myself a small challenge by using only Bali Batiks for this little quilt. (I have a box full.) It wasn't until I actually started stitching that I had the lightbulb moment and realised the last thing Kerry probably wants to see is Bali Batiks!  Oh dear, sorry Kerry!
